I know lodging is difficult along the Natchez Trace but could we use some of that for the last day? Low traffic and a nice road.
ReplyDeleteI can rail against teh Natchez Trace Parkway for minutes. If we took any part of the NTP it would be out the next to last day out of Hohenwald and end in Nashville. Then the last day would be across Nashville to home. Not absolutely bad if your preference is to ride some of the NTP and across Nashville. I have done that and usually encourage cross country touring cyclists to do just that route. However, I consider the current route to be nicer in several respects.
ReplyDeleteIf your goal is to cycle some of the NTP we can plan a ride a two day out and back. It's a nice day's ride from Pasquo to Meriwether Lewis park where there are cabins. My guess is you'll be glad for an alternative non NTP route the second day.
Bruce,
ReplyDeleteI may take Thursday off and join you all in Dickson for the ride back to H'ville. What time to you plan on departing Dickson? And where are you staying Wednesday nite?
Tod,
ReplyDeletePart of the attraction of a multi day bicycle tour is the relative freedom from a schedule. To quote my mentor Aussie Bob, "Plan with great precision and implement with great flexibility." That said we'll probably leave somewhere around 9:00 am. We'll be at the Super 8 Dickson,158 Suzanne Drive, Dickson, TN Wednesday night.
